Mission Statement

Our mission at The Beacon radio station is to provide an online radio station, overseen by WUMB for UMass Boston students.  We are dedicated to producing quality student run programing that will allow students to learn how to manage and run a radio station. 

Students will have the opportunity to create, produce and broadcast radio programs while getting practical hands-on experience in radio.  Formats will be free form, ranging from reggae, to jazz, to rock, to sports/news/talk.

The Beacon Radio will serve as the student voice on campus.  As an active participant each DJ will have a critical role in the success of The Beacon radio station.
